The number on a shot is its strength before mixing, which is why a 40mg shot makes a 20mg bottle. If you are re-ordering, your past orders show the strength you chose last time.
Shot strength vs the strength you vape
A shot is diluted when you add it to the longfill, so the finished bottle is weaker than the shot.
Finished strength = shot strength × shot size ÷ bottle size

Salt or freebase?
- Freebase is the original form of nicotine. It has more of a “throat hit”, which some vapers like because it feels closer to a cigarette. The throat hit gets harsher as the strength goes up, which is why we only go up to 18mg with freebase. We offer it at 2 to 6mg for 120ml longfills, and at 12 or 18mg for 30ml and 60ml longfills.
- Nicotine salt is the newer form, and the one most disposables use. It is much softer on the throat and less likely to make you cough than freebase, so it can be made much stronger: we stock it up to 50mg, the strength most disposables use. Our salt shots are for 30ml and 60ml longfills, at 20, 35 or 50mg finished strength.
Nicotine salt is made by pairing nicotine with a mild acid, usually benzoic or lactic acid, which is what makes the vapour smoother. Some people can be sensitive to nicotine salts.

What does “40mg (makes 20mg)” mean?
The shot is 40mg. Mixed into the longfill it is made for, the bottle comes out at 20mg.
Can I get it without nicotine?
Yes. Choose “No thanks” for the nicotine when you add the longfill. For a 30ml or 60ml longfill, use the same amount of VG instead of the shot (15ml or 30ml). For a 120ml, use a 10ml 0mg PG shot instead of the nicotine shot, plus the usual 80ml of VG.
